Our programs

Fortescue have an exciting future ahead as we continue to establish ourselves for growth in a global market through innovation, product diversification and asset development.
Our graduate, vacation and apprenticeship programs offer students the opportunity to learn in a practical and hands-on environment. You will be paired with a specialist in your chosen field to provide professional supervision and mentoring.
We are currently recruiting for graduates, undergraduates and vacation students to join the Fortescue family.

Graduate program
Our graduate program offers students and graduates the opportunity to make a real difference in our world by helping to decarbonise our business and transition to green energy.
From the Pilbara to the United Kingdom and beyond, our two-year graduate program is designed for students who have graduated university. For those still completing their studies, we offer summer internships and industrial placements (UK students only).
Join a forward-thinking business, with a unique values driven culture, market competitive salaries and opportunities to gain site-based experience in a variety of teams and roles.
With opportunities available in our Mining and Geosciences, Engineering, Commerce, Economic and Finance, Law, Sustainability, Technology and AI teams, we’ve got your area of interest and expertise covered.

Vacation program
Our Vacation program offers tertiary students the opportunity to work at one of our operations in a hands-on environment. As part of the program, students are given a project and are paired with a Fortescue team member who provides mentoring and supervision.
The program runs for twelve weeks from December to February and includes placements in both Perth and site-based on a fly-in fly-out roster to expose students to our operations.

Apprenticeship and Traineeship programs
Our industry leading Apprenticeship and Traineeship programs are part of our commitment to offer diverse and rewarding careers.
We provide apprentices and trainees the opportunity to grow their skills and knowledge over a 12-month to 4-year, structured training period. The programs include on the job training and a range of classroom TAFE and offsite development, which leads to a nationally recognised trade qualification.
These programs cover a range of trades including electricians, heavy vehicle mechanics, fixed plant mechanics, fabricators and light vehicle mechanics. Our apprentices are rotated around our sites to build connections and maximise their learning opportunities.
