A new partnership between Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue) and Black Swan State Theatre Company (Black Swan) will bring the best of West Australian theatre to the regions.

Established in 1991, Black Swan is Western Australia’s flagship theatre company and plays a key role in developing artists and reaching audiences across the State.

At the 2020 season launch, Fortescue was announced as the Principal Partner of Black Swan, with Fortescue’s sponsorship to bring a focus on regional engagement, developing new theatre works telling Western Australian stories, and exploring international opportunities.

Fortescue Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth Gaines said the partnership builds on the Company’s long-standing commitment to communities.

“From the outset, it was Fortescue’s vision to ensure that the communities in which we operate thrive and we have been proud to support many West Australian initiatives and organisations,” Ms Gaines said.

“Fortescue and Black Swan are both strong West Australian brands with a shared ambition for our State and a dedication to building vibrant communities across the State.

“With so many of our team members working and living in regional WA, we are particularly pleased with the regional focus of our partnership which will bring the excitement and storytelling of theatre to our regions.

“On behalf of the Fortescue family, we are excited to be a part of the next phase of this iconic West Australian organisation.”
